Spine surgery procedures at KCM Clinic are available under the contract with the National Health Fund From 2024, KCM Clinic offers innovative spine surgery procedures under a contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ). Thanks to advanced technology and the experience of our specialists, patients can now benefit from comprehensive surgical procedures that will improve their quality of life and bring relief from ailments related to spine problems. Endoscopic spine surgeries in chronic pain syndromes and discopathies play an increasingly important role in modern minimally invasive spine surgery. Endoscopic spine surgery (ESS) is a modern surgical technique in which the surgeon inserts an endoscope combined with a camera into the spine through a microincision to visualize the surgical field. Although endoscopic surgical methods have been widely used for years in the treatment of e.g. the gastrointestinal tract, only the latest advances in optics, tissue visualization and spine imaging have made endoscopic spine surgery the optimal and safest choice in surgical treatment of the spine for many patients. Spine procedures performed using the endoscopic technique, thanks to the use of an extremely thin endoscope with a high-resolution endoscopic camera and visualization of the surgical site on a 4K monitor, enable minimally invasive and much safer access to the operated tissues for the patient compared to classic open and minimally invasive surgeries traditionally used. Modern endoscopic techniques in spine surgery are mainly used in discopathy and degenerative disease of the spine/intervertebral disc and in the treatment of intervertebral disc herniation. In our Center for Endoscopic and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at the KCM Clinic Hospital, experienced neurosurgeons and neuroorthopedists perform surgeries using the latest generation of equipment from the world leader in endoscopic spine technology, i.e. Rivo Spine (formerly Richard Wolf GmbH), in a modern multimedia operating theater. Minimally invasive spine surgeries performed using the endoscopic technique, together with modern and extremely sensitive endoscopic imaging using an endoscope, camera and monitor, as well as special microsurgical techniques, are able to further reduce pain and reduce the access incision felt by patients. All the surgeon's manipulations using endoscopic instruments are directly controlled on the monitor thanks to the high quality of the image with 4K quality and guarantee a high level of effectiveness of the procedure and safety. The procedure usually lasts up to one hour, the hospital stay up to 2 days. Thanks to the development of innovative endoscopic instruments and techniques and the very good effectiveness of these procedures confirmed in multi-center scientific studies around the world, minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery has much broader indications today. Endoscopic spine surgery is used today in procedures not only on the lumbar spine (lumbar-sacral section) but also on the thoracic and cervical spine in specific indications. It should be emphasized that a very important role in spine diseases and the treatment of intervertebral disc herniation in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine is played, in addition to an experienced surgical specialist and a precisely performed surgical procedure, by professional pre- and post-operative rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
